Precautions for Use

Contact Lenses are Highly Controlled Medical Devices

Contact lenses are used by directly placing them on eyes. To ensure the safety of your eyes, handle your contact lens with due care. Be sure to purchase contact lenses after taking an examination by an ophthalmologist and receiving a prescription. Read the package insert and instruction manual before use.

Special Care When Using Contact Lenses

  • Do not wear the contact lenses for longer than indicated.
  • Use your contact lenses correctly by following the instructions.
  • Be sure to have periodic check-ups.
  • Consult an ophthalmologist immediately if you feel anything unusual.
  • The length of time you can continuously wear lenses depends on the individual. Follow your ophthalmologist’s instructions.
  • You cannot wear contact lenses when you have dry eyes, eye disease, or any condition for which an ophthalmologist has diagnosed contact lens usage as inappropriate or unadvisable. Consult your ophthalmologist.

Wearing Contact Lenses for an Extended Period of Time

Follow your ophthalmologist’s instructions for extended wear.

  • Extended wear is not an option for all people.
  • Please follow the instructions on the consent form and in handbook.
  • Please follow the correct extended wear cycle.

Using Bi-weekly/Monthly Replacement Contact Lenses

  • Use new lenses according to the replacement cycle given by your ophthalmologist.
  • You cannot use the same lenses beyond the prescribed usage period.
  • Follow the instructions on the consent form and card.
  • Never use broken or otherwise damaged or defective lens.

Using Daily Disposable Contact Lenses

  • Never use broken or otherwise damaged or defective lens.
  • Use each lens for one day only.
  • Once used, remove and dispose of the contact lens.
  • If any breakage occurs during wear, consult an ophthalmologist immediately for examination.
  • Follow the instructions on the consent form and card.

Precautions for Using Color Contact Lenses

  • The circular pigmented part of the lens uses a metal-based colorant. Remove the contact lenses before MRI examinations or exposure to laser radiation such as those used in beauty salon treatment. If not removed, eye damage may result. Remove the contact lenses before X-ray examinations or CT scanning around the eye. Non-removal may prevent accurate examination results.
